Recently, the "2025 International Critical Minerals and Metals Summit (ICMMS)", hosted by Fastmarkets and supported by the Indonesian Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industries, was held in Bali, Indonesia. The summit brought together over 450 government officials, international investors, and representatives from mining and manufacturing companies worldwide to discuss strategic opportunities and challenges of critical minerals in the global energy transition.
As a global leader in green manufacturing integration for new energy lithium-ion battery materials, Huayou's strategic layout in the nickel industry in Indonesia became a focal point of attention. Huayou Cobalt's Vice President, Sun Lihui, represented the company and participated in multiple high-level dialogues, sharing Huayou's innovative practices and international cooperation achievements in the field of green new energy materials.

During the roundtable discussion, a representative from Vale, a partner, highlighted the high-pressure acid leaching (HPAL) smelting project jointly promoted by Vale, Huayou Cobalt, and Ford Motor in Indonesia. This project integrates global high-quality mineral resources, advanced smelting technology, and end-market channels, establishing a sustainable cooperation model characterized by "strategic synergy, diverse shareholding, and resource sharing." It aims to create a green, low-carbon, and responsible industrial chain, drawing significant attention from attendees.
Sun Lihui stated in his speech, "Huayou has always deeply integrated ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles into our entire business process. Our investments in Indonesia not only focus on economic benefits but also place great emphasis on environmental sustainability and social responsibility. Through practices such as green smelting technology, low-carbon operational management, and the China-Indonesia Community Sustainable Development Action Network, we are committed to providing stable, reliable, and responsible raw material guarantees for the global energy transition."

Huayou's in-depth presence in Indonesia has created numerous employment opportunities, driven industrial upgrading, and promoted downstream chain extension. Looking ahead, Huayou will continue to deepen strategic collaborations with Indonesian and global partners, jointly building a more sustainable battery industrial chain and providing solid material support and practical examples for achieving global carbon neutrality goals.
